Vision
To empower students with exceptionalities to reach their full potential by supporting their unique learning needs.
Mission
To advocate for students with exceptionalities and continuously enhance the quality of their educational services.
Purpose
Our committee, composed of approximately two-thirds parents and one-third staff, meets five times a year to strengthen special education servies across the East Central Kansas Cooperative in Education. We serve as a liasion between families and schools, foster collaboration, and promote positive communication. By sharing resources, supporting program implementation, and building understanding of the IDEA processes, we empower parents and contribute to meaningful, student-centered decisions. We also provide regular recommendations to district leadership and clebrate student success while maintaining confidentiality.
